I work for Contiki as part of their Web Team and also moonlight running tours in Europe where I've worked for the past 5 years as a Tour Manager. The 'Conikipedia' is kinda my baby and I now spend most of my days glued to a keyboard, watching movies and snacking on fish tacos (one of Southern California's finest delicacies). I'm originally from Brisbane, Australia and love Oz as well as places like Las Vegas, and New York but would kill to live in Austria or the Greek Islands. I'm also dying to get to Washington DC and already have a place booked on my mates floor for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.

Yes, these luggage restrictions apply to all tours in Europe, I have never seen anyone luggage being weighed on a Greek Island Hopping tour though so if you’re a little over for a Greek Island Hopping tour you’re not going to have to leave anything behind….I wouldn’t take a great deal of luggage to Greece anyway because you really don’t need that much stuff down there and you’ll have to carry your own luggage on and off ferries.

The resort isn’t closing, they’re going to open the resort up to everyone so it won’t be exclusive to Contiki anymore.

The latest you should meet up with your tour is 9am on the morning of departure from New Orleans to Pensacola…if you arrive earlier or a day or two before, you’re more than welcome to join up with the group. There will be some information at the hotel when you arrive as to what your group is up to. You’ll also receive more information about how and when to meet up with your group with your Contiki tour documents.

You can meet people going on tours in the Contiki Forums – about half way down the page there are meeting places for all out tours. There’s also loads of advice and opinions from people who have traveled with Contiki before.

It usually hangs around 0 Celcius (32 F) if not a couple of degrees warmer….

Every venue is different, generally though, no club is going to deny you entry because of your shoes (I have no idea why some places – like Vegas – do this) – it’s best to look as good as you can if you want to visit places like the Monte Carlo Casino, but even there I’ve sen them let people in with jeans, shirts and non-dress shoes. The Europeans, if they ever do decide to impose a dress code (very rare) usually just care that you look good rather than being worried about if your shoes are the ‘right’ type of material.

Be prepared for all of the above – Europe is a (surprisingly) big place – most tours cover quite a bit of ground and just like it’s not possible to generalize about weather in the US (Feb. in Floria is very different to Feb. in Boston) you can’t generalize about all of Europe – the northern regions are going to be usually colder (sometimes snowing) in Feb/March than the south (Spain, Italy, Sth France).
