Getting to Hopfgarten

Your Contiki coach departs from the Royal National Hotel at Bedford Way, London WC1 on Fridays at 7pm. It returns to the same spot on Saturdays at around 11pm. The coaches are modern and feature heating/air conditioning plus full facilities like bathroom, comfortable reclining seats, DVD player and stereo.

By Air to Munich, Innsbruck and Salzburg

Hopfgarten is easy and affordable to access by flying to Munich, Innsbruck or Salzburg – both British Airways (ba.com) and Ryan Air (ryanair.com) offer services. You can also check out www.skyscanner.net for affordable flights. The closest airport is Innsbruck. You will need to make your own way to Hopfgarten from the airport. Be sure to book a flight to arrive on a SATURDAY which is when your accommodation begins.

Munich Airport (Munchen Flughaven) to Hopfgarten (im Brixental) Berglift

When you arrive at Munich Airport, make your way to the Zentrum Bereich (Central Area) where you can purchase a ticket at the train counter for Hopfgarten Berglift. Take the S-Bahn (Subway) to Munchen Ost – approximately 15 minutes journey time.

At Munchen Ost – change platforms and take the fast train direct to Wörgl. At Wörgl – change platforms and take train to Hopfgarten Berglift.

Innsbruck Airport (Flughaven) to Hopfgarten (im Brixental) Berglift
Upon arrival take the Shuttle Bus to Train Station (Bahnhof). From Innsbruck train station take a train to Wörgl.

Catch the fast train and not the regional train that stops at every stop. At Wörgl – change platforms and take train to Hopfgarten Berglift.

Once you arrive at Hopfgarten Berglift

There are actually two stops in Hopfgarten – be sure to alight at “Hopfgarten Berglift” and not at “Hopfgarten”. Hopfgarten Berglift is the second stop when travelling from Wörgl. From Hopfgarten Berglift you can telephone Contiki at Gasthof Schöneck (Tel: 05335 2563) to arrange a pick up from the station.
